JioTV is an application which enables you to view your TV channels and favourite programs on internet enabled devices, such as smartphones and tablets. With JioTV you can pause and play a live program or catchup on any show telecast over the last seven days.
Where do I download JioTV from?
You can download JioTV from play store (android devices) or app store (Ios devices)
On which devices can I use JioTV?
JioTV is available on smartphone, feature phones and tablets.
Can I access JioTV from my desktop or personal computer?
Not as of now but we would be launching JioTV for laptops and personal computers.
How much space does JioTV occupy on my device?
JioTV requires ~200MB of space.
I just bought a new device. How do I check if it is compatible with JioTV services?
JioTV works on all the latest smartphones and tablets.
I have changed my handset/phone, how do I install JioTV on my new device?
Please visit play store / app store to install JioTV on the new device.
Can I uninstall JioTV?
Yes, but you will be missing out on unlimited entertainment from 1000+ channels across 12+ languages.
Do I need to be connected to the internet to use JioTV?
Yes, you need to be connected to an uninterrupted internet connection to be able to access JioTV.
What is the minimum internet bandwidth required for JioTV?
JioTV requires a minimum internet bandwidth of 1Mbps.
How many channels are available on JioTV?
Currently, JioTV has 1000+ channels to offer and we will continue to add more channels.
Can I watch High Definition (HD) channels on JioTV?
Yes, JioTV currently has 150+ High Definition (HD) channels.
What is the minimum internet bandwidth required to play HD channels?
To watch High Definition (HD) channels on JioTV, the minimum bandwidth requirement is ~2-4Mbps.
Can I have JioTV in regional language?
JioTV is currently available in 12+ languages. To select preferred language, go to Menu -> Settings -> Display/Content languages.
Can I watch regional channels on JioTV?
JioTV currently offers 250+ Regional channels.
Which regional language channels are available on JioTV?
JioTV has channels in various regional languages such as Assamese, Bengali, Bhojpuri, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Nepali, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu. You may apply languages filter inside TV Guide to view channels of your choice.

From where can I buy JioTV Premium Subscription?
JioTV Premium subscription can be bought through the MyJio mobile, app.jio.com website or the JioTV App. The subscription is bought along with an active mobility plan.
What is included in the JioTV Premium Subscription?
JioTV Premium subscription comes with uninterrupted access to premium OTT content from multiple providers based on the package chosen.
How can I activate JioTV Premium mobility subscription plan using MyJio app, if a plan is already active?
The subscription plan will be automatically activated if there is no other active plan ongoing now. If you already have an ongoing plan and you have recently recharged a new one, then you can activate JioTV Premium mobility subscription plan through MyJio app using below steps:
  • Login in MyJio app and tap on ‘View Plans’.
  • Tap on ‘Activate’ against the desired upcoming plan.
  • Confirm activation of the desired upcoming plan.
  • You will receive confirmation post activation of the plan.
Note: When you activate an upcoming plan from My Plans through https://www.jio.com/dl/my_plans, the new plan will get activated. The validity of the new plan will start with immediate effect. The old plan’s validity will expire as soon as the new plan is activated in case of JioTV mobility subscription plan.
What if I do not recharge JioTV Subscription Plan monthly?
If you do not purchase JioTV Premium mobility subscription, after the validity of your existing recharge is over, you will not be able access any premium contents.
Are there any additional benefits If I port my number to Jio?
Along with Access to India’s state of the art 4G/5G network, you can get access to uninterrupted premium content from world’s leading and most entertaining OTT providers via JioTV Premium mobility subscription plan.
What does the crown on content thumbnails mean?
The crown on content thumbnail means that it is a premium content that can be accessed only after buying JioTV Premium subscription.
After purchasing JioTV mobility subscription plan, I am unable to see it in my ‘My Plans’. What should I do?
Kindly update your JioTV app to the latest version to enjoy premium OTT content. Alternatively, you can open the MyJio app, go to ‘My Plans’ and check if the recharged plan is in an active state. If not, please activate the relevant JioTV mobility subscription plan. Your Bundle Recharge Offer starts from the day your plan is active.
I am unable to play premium content even after purchasing the JioTV mobility subscription plan. What should I do?
Open the MyJio app, go to ‘My Plans’ and check if the recharged plan is in an active state. If not, please activate the relevant JioTV mobility subscription plan. Where can I view my subscription information?
You can view your mobility plan subscription information on the MyJio app under Plans section. Also, you can view your Premium subscription on JioTV app > Plans and Offer > My Plans.
How should I renew my subscription?
If your payment mode doesn’t support auto renewal, you can renew your subscription by going to MyJio > Plans. Also, you can renew your subscription on JioTV app > Plans and Offer > My Plans.
Can I buy here and watch it on TV / web?
No, viewing of premium content is only available on the mobile devices and tablets. We are working towards bringing this experience to TV and web.
Can I download Premium content?
Currently, the download option is not available for Premium contents on JioTV. We will notify our users once the download option is available.
Can I directly log in through the OTT app for which I have subscription?
User can access all the premium contents only by navigating via JioTV application, with an active Premium subscription.
Why am I getting redirected to Play Store if I click on any content of Zee5 or SunNXT OTT provider contents?
The redirection to Zee5/SunNxT apps is based on the agreement with the respective content partners. Rest assured, you can enjoy watching the contents on Zee5/SunNxt apps by clicking on a content from JioTV app. However, direct access of contents from the partner app is not possible, redirection from JioTV to the partner app during every session is required.
Am I supposed to complete the update/installation of the Zee5 app after the Zee5 bundle recharge offer?
Please make sure you are on the latest version of Zee5 app from Play Store/ App Store before watching the content.
After installing Zee5 / SunNxt through the JioTV app, why does the content not start playing in the respective app after redirection?
In case you are installing Zee5 / SunNxt through the JioTV app; Post installation, please close the Zee5 app if it is running in the background and then access the content from JioTV, it will redirect the user to partner app and the content will start playing.

How do I save mobile data and still enjoy watching all my favourite channels/programmes on JioTV?
Please follow the steps below to limit data usage.
  1. Hamburger: Click on Menu and select ‘Settings’ section. Click on ‘Data Usage’ and set the video quality as “Low” or “Medium” (as per requirement).
  2. Program Details Page: Play any desired content. Tap on player screen, select the settings icon present at the bottom. Set the video quality as “Low” or “Medium” (as per requirement) and click on “Remember my settings” .
Will this consume a lot of data?
JioTV player has adaptive bit rate handling which means that the quality of the video will be adjusted based on the speed of user’s network and data will be consumed based on that. Users can also select high, medium and low bit rates as well according to their preferences.
I want to watch a program that has already been telecast. Is this possible?
JioTV has the ‘Catchup’ feature, available across select channels, which lets you watch programs telecast over the last seven days.
How can I watch programmes that were telecast within the past seven days?
You can watch your programme using the Catchup feature of JioTV.
  1. TV guide: The content is segregated as per the respective data and time in TV Guide. Press on the programme name/title you want to view, and the respective player screen will be displayed.
  2. Quick search: You can type the programme name in the search bar, to search for the programme. Select your programme from the search result to go to the programme detail page, listing all the programme episodes telecast in the last seven days below the player.
How can I view programme/episode synopsis?
Select your desired content via search or any tab inside JioTV. You will see the details of the screen below video player under the section ‘Description’.
Can I see details of a programme (e.g., star cast)?
We do not have provision to display the cast details of the program/movie right now. However, you can search using your favourite cast and director names to find content starring them.
How can I mark a channel as my favourite?
  1. PDP: For marking a channel as favourite, click on the favourite icon (heart) present below the player on the program details page.
  2. TV Guide: There is a favourite channel filter on TV Guide, on clicking this heart icon on TV Guide all your favourite channels will get marked and dispalyed.
How can I add a program in my favourites?
For marking a program as favourite, click on the ‘Watchlist’ icon present below the player on the program details page.
Is it possible for me to pause a programme on one device and resume viewing the programme (from the point where I paused) on another device?
No
How can I search for programmes or channels?
A Search button is available on the top right corner of the application. Tap on the Search icon and enter your search for any show or channel.
Can I share a programme or what I am watching on the JioTV application through any Social Network?
Yes, you can share a program that you are watching on JioTV through JioChat, WhatsApp, Facebook, and Twitter. Tap on the share icon (available on program detail page) and select the social network for sharing the program. In case the user with whom you have shared the link does not have JioTV installed, he/she will be prompted to install JioTV first.
Can I record my favourite programme?
Yes, you can record your favourite programme and watch it later. You can record the programme from the program details page. Please note that these programmes are not recorded on your device but on our network cloud.
Where can I view the programmes which I have recorded?
All recorded and scheduled recording can be seen under ‘My Recordings’ section inside Menu tab.
Does JioTV provide multi-audio and subtitles on channels? How do I access it?
Yes, we do have multi audio and subtitles features for certain content available on JioTV. You can access these through the settings icon present at the bottom of the player screen.
Where are the live channels I used to see on top?
You can find live channels on the For You tab on scrolling down. Live channels and shows are also curated on shows, sports and other tabs. Live channels are also shown in TV guide tab.
What other types of content can I access on JioTV for free?
One can access Exclusive Jio content across music, sports and entertainment genres
Which casting devices are supported/ not supported by JioTV?
Currently, the casting option is not available. We will notify our users once the casting option is available.
Parental Control
What is the Parental Controls feature?
Parental Controls allow you to limit access to mature content, ensuring that users, especially minors, are only exposed to age-appropriate material. This feature helps safeguard children from unsuitable content.
From where can I apply Parental Controls?
To set up Parental Controls, navigate to:
Menu > Settings > Parental Controls.
From there, you can select the appropriate age restrictions. You will be prompted to create a PIN for secure access to these settings. This PIN will be needed to modify the restriction level
What if I forget the Parental PIN?
If you have forgotten your Parental PIN, go to:
Settings > Parental Controls > Forgot Your PIN?
You will be asked to enter your device lock credentials to verify your identity and reset the PIN.
Device Limit and Login
How many devices can I use with my number?
You can use up to 5 devices using the same mobile number to access JioTV.
What happens if I try to log in on a 6th device?
If you attempt to log in on a 6th device, you will get an alert notifying you that the maximum device limit has been reached.
Will I be automatically logged out from my devices once the limit is reached?
Yes, you will be automatically logged.
Will my currently logged-in devices be affected by this new restriction?
Your currently logged-in devices will remain unaffected if you are within the device limit.
Can I use JioTV on both Android and iOS devices under this limit?
Yes, you can use JioTV on up to 5 devices regardless of the platform (Android or iOS) as long as they are registered with the same mobile number.
What happens if I try to log in after the device limit is reached?
Upon successful login, you will receive an alert about the device limit. If you click "Continue," all other devices using the same mobile number will be logged out.
Miscellaneous Technical and Feedback
Is there any free content available?
Yes. You can watch 1000+ live channels in 15+ languages with up to 7 days of catch up for free on the JioTV App that are not part of the JioTV Premium subscription.
Why am I unable to install JioTV?
This could be a network issue. Please check your internet connection and try again.
I receive ‘Network is not available’ message when I try to open JioTV app. What should I do?
This could possibly be a network issue. Please check your internet connection and try again.
I receive ‘Network Error ‘message when I try to play a channel/video. What should I do?
This could possibly be a network issue. Please check your internet connection and try again.
I am trying to start the application on my mobile and it's asking me to update it. What should I do?
Please go ahead and update it. We keep improving our application on a continuous basis to enhance our user experience. You may follow the below steps: - Go to Play Store or App Store -> Search for JioTV -> Update the application.
How do I find out if the latest version of the app is installed on my device? Will it update automatically?
To update to the latest JioTV version, go to play store or app store -> search for JioTV -> Update option will be available (in case you are not on the latest version) We also notify you when a newer version is available. To check the JioTV version, tap on Menu -> Scroll down to the bottom of the screen -> you can check the application version form there.
I can’t find a few channels that I want to watch. How do I get them?
We have tried our best to include your choice of channels in our library. In case some of your channels are not in the list, please use the ‘Feedback’ section in the menu to let us know.
Where can I raise feedback if video and audio are not in sync?
Please get back to us in case of any such issues through ‘Feedback’ section of the app. Go to Menu -> Feedback OR you may report an issue by clicking on the ‘Report’ button present below the player screen
Where can I raise feedback if video is buffering/pixelated/freezing/breaking?
Please make sure your internet is working and the device is connected. If the network strength at your end is strong, kindly raise your concern through ‘Feedback’ section of the app. Go to Menu -> Feedback.
How do I provide feedback or suggestions on JioTV?
Open the Menu tab, inside the menu click on ‘Feedback’ section and submit your feedback.
